As a result, my voice and new songs, caught the attention of Carla Berkowitz in L.A.
Carla worked for a publishing company called, Little Reatta, whose parent company was Warner Chappell.
Her influence helped me get a record contract in 1993 with Elektra Records, whose label also hosted pop/jazz star, Anita Baker.
I was managed by Dan Cleary, who managed Natalie Cole, and was produced by, Tommy LiPuma, who had just finished producing Natalie Cole's album, "Unforgettable".
The album took all year to record, and over $500,000 to produce.
